Harbourmaster

My name is Martin. I began drumming for bands in around 2005 before finding my feet as a guitarist and songwriter. I developed an interest in recording in order to capture the sounds of my own bands and solo material.
Recording became more than just an interest, and I began working in a South Shields-based community recording studio. I worked with a huge range of artists from all ages and backgrounds, and from full-time professionals to people who had never set foot in a recording studio before.
Working with people from all walks of life helped me develop a reputation for creating a welcoming and supportive environment for recording sessions, which is something I am very proud of.
I completed a BA (Hons) Degree in Contemporary and Popular Music at Newcastle University, which gave me the skills and experience to work with a wider variety of musical styles.
In December 2020 I opened Harbourmaster Productions Recording Studio in Prospect House, South Shields. The studio allows me to continue producing emerging and established talent from across the North East while making sessions as accessible and affordable as I can.
Alongside all of this, I am still working as a song writer, releasing music under a variety of names (Martin Francis Trollope/Harbourmaster/Dinosaur Duvet Set), and collaboratively as a member of various bands, which include District Attorney, The Union Choir and The Railway Club.
