Paul Johnson

Paul David Johnson is an English singer, songwriter and producer, releasing indie songs as The Dawn Roar. He is joined on the road by Nick Tilling (bass) and Lee Jenkins (drums).

Paul recently completed a masters in Songwriting and Music Production, last year releasing Neon Soul, a shoegaze-inspired track that points in the direction he’s headed. “The imagery is all from a trip I took years ago to Seoul and Tokyo. I was reminiscing about it really, and that feeling of escapism. I guess I was trying to find it in the music”.

2026 promises to be a busy year for Paul and the band. They have released five singles already in 2026. Latest release Apartment, US tells of how a couple first met and fell in love. Sonically inspired by early Bon Iver, it features gently strummed electric guitars, doubled vocals, wispy synths and subtle drums to carry the song forward.
