Winslow Nicholas

Winslow had a keen interest in music since the early days when he converted half of his father’s garage into a 4 track recording studio. Winslow constructed his synthesizer (Maplin 5600S) by filling a large cardboard box with tiny electronic components and using a 20-page instruction booklet that he suspected could have been written in Chinese. However, a few months later, he was up and running after lots of college electronics lessons, laying down tracks on his new 4-track TEAC (Remember those?).

These days things are different with the availability of MIDI and Digital Technology, Cubase and Roland Keyboards. Winslow regards himself as more a composer than a performer, despite having released over 26 singles of various jenres to date but he would like to have his music sync licensed for TV, adverts, and film soundtracks. He records all his work from keyboards and edits it live in his studio, with Cubase as his preferred DAW.

Some of his earlier dance tracks are currently being played around the elite London clubs by his well-known Urban DJ friend Colin Francis of Marbella Sessions fame. One track, mainly, had celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and the Prince of Bahrain bopping along at one famous exclusive London nightclub! There is no doubt about it, it’s true! They both loved it, said Winslow. According to Colin, they were dancing together with great enthusiasm and energy on the dance floor. Regrettably, I cannot offer any insight or knowledge on this matter. You’ll have to ask him yourself.
